In a promising step toward advancing agriculture in the Jordan Valley's saline water areas, the Arab Development Society has successfully cultivated forage corn using water with a salinity level nearing 5000 ppm (parts per million), by applying the Electromagnetic Water System for salt reduction.
This system was implemented through a project funded by the Dutch government in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and hydrologists. As shown in video documentation, the system has proven effective after multiple trials, significantly reducing the impact of salinity on agricultural productivity.
Based on the success of this trial, the Society strongly recommends that all civil society organizations working with farmers in the Jordan Valley support the adoption and expansion of this technology. It holds the potential to make vegetable cultivation feasible even with saline water.
We extend our sincere thanks to our partners in this pioneering initiative and call for continued collaboration toward a sustainable agricultural future in the Jordan Valley.
