Fried Chicken Strips with Buttermilk Marinade

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, sliced
  • Flour
  • Buttermilk
  • Milk
  • Small onion, sliced
  • Jalapeño pepper, sliced
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Dried thyme
  • Paprika
  • Hot red pepper sauce
  • Hot chili powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
Instructions
  • In a large bowl, combine the milk, buttermilk, sliced onion, jalapeño pepper, salt, black pepper, and hot red pepper sauce. Mix well.
  • Add the chicken and stir, then cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, paprika, hot chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dip the chicken into the flour mixture, then fry it in deep, hot oil until golden brown.
  • Place the fried chicken in serving dishes and serve hot with yellow basmati rice and garlic sauce.
